Sebastian Vettel has made history by winning his third consecutive F1 World Championship with a sixth place finish. Meanwhile, Jenson Button claimed victory in a thrilling, action packed race.
Lewis Hamilton will start his final race for McLaren from pole position, after setting the fastest time today. It is his seventh pole position of the year.
Jenson Button completed a clean sweep of practice sessions for McLaren at Interlagos. After team mate Lewis Hamilton set the fastest times in both sessions yesterday, today it was the turn of Button who just edged out Sebastian Vettel to end up quickest.
Lewis Hamilton has become the first even winner on the Circuit Of The Americas after beating Sebastian Vettel. The race was incredibly tense, with Hamilton passing Vettel with fourteen laps to go. They were separated by half a second at the end.
Sebastian Vettel will start his 100th Grand Prix from pole position, after continuing his domination of the American Grand Prix weekend.
Sebastian Vettel has completed a clean sweep of practice sessions, by going fastest in Free Practice Three. However, unlike yesterday, he was not dominant with Lewis Hamilton managing to get to within two tenths of a second of his time at the end of the hour.
Kimi Raikkonen has won a thrilling, incident packed Abu Dhabi Grand Prix today. It was his first win of the season, and his first since the Belgian Grand Prix of 2009.
Mercedes’ poor form continued during qualifying for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Nico Rosberg managed to get in the top ten and will start from eighth, but Michael Schumacher – only three races away from retirement – will line up fourteenth.
HRT didn’t make any inroads on rivals Marussia or Caterham in qualifying at Abu Dhabi today. Pedro de la Rosa and Narain Karthikeyan will start tomorrow’s race from twenty third and twenty fourth places respectively.
The two Williams drivers had a qualifying hour of contrasting fortunes at Abu Dhabi. Pastor Maldonado put in a strong performance and will start from fourth place for tomorrow’s race, with team mate Bruno Senna all the way back in fifteenth.
The Force India team were left disappointed by their performance during qualifying at Abu Dhabi today. Neither car made it into the top ten. Nico Hulkenberg, who was recently confirmed as a Sauber driver for next year, will start eleventh, with Paul di Resta not far behind in thirteenth.
