Gordon Shedden once more drove through the pack to secure a fourth win of the season on a roller-coaster Thruxton weekend for he and the Honda Yuasa Racing team on a day that began with both works Civics mired on the lower reaches of the grid.

The rain finally easing Gordon Shedden repeated his pace of yesterday at Thruxton to drive from sixth on the grid to win the second race of the day. Though the rain stopped, and the track was visibly dryer in the closing laps the race was started under safety car – as the prior support events had been – Mat Jackson only passing the green flag as he started lap three.

Mat Jackson chalked up a second with of the season, making the most of a good start and contact between the front row starters to win the first race of the day at a sodden Thruxton circuit. Jackson was spared a potential restart after a safety car for teammate Liam Griffin when the race was red flagged after the recovery truck became stuck.

Andrew Jordan clinched pole position from a manic qualifying session for the British Touring Car Championship at Thruxton.
