1 Mins read

Tatiana Calderon has become Carlin’s sixth and final driver to be confirmed for the 2015 FIA European Formula 3 Championship season.

The twenty-one-year-old Colombian female racer joins Callum Ilott and George Russell in the primary team, while Gustavo Menezes, Ryan Tveter and Antonio Giovinazzi will run in the sister Jagonya Ayam with Carlin outfit this season.

Calderon moves from Jo Zeller Racing who she raced with in 2014, finishing a best of fifth place at Spa-Francorchamps in a car run in conjunction with Mücke Motorsport and she is looking forward to having a stronger season with Carlin in 2015.

“I’m extremely happy to be joining such a successful team as Carlin for the 2015 FIA F3 European Championship season,” said Calderon.

“I love the team’s working atmosphere and everyone’s determination to succeed; I’m sure together with the support from Volkswagen Motorsport we will achieve great things.

“I’m in a great position, surrounded by great people and I want to make the most of this opportunity.”

Team Principal Trevor Carlin welcomed Calderon into the team, and felt she was impressive enough in testing for the team to warrant the drive, and is looking for the Colombian to get good results in 2015.

“We’ve wanted Tatiana in the team for some time now and we’re delighted that everything came together this season to allow us to have Tatiana with us,” said Carlin.

“She was very impressive in testing, and her determination and professionalism will really stand her in good stead for the season ahead.  I’m expecting to see some good results from her from the outset.”
