Pietro Fittipaldi and Matt Rao will race for Fortec Motorsports in the 2015 season of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship.
Although not confirmed by Fortec, Fittipaldi, the 2014 Protyre Formula Renault champion and the grandson of two-time Formula 1 Drivers champion Emerson Fittipaldi, confirmed on his official Twitter account that he will be stepping up into European Formula 3 in 2015.
“I am very happy to announce that I will be racing with @FortecM in the @fiaf3europe championship! I can’t wait for the season to start!” said the tweet.
Rao continues his partnership with Fortec that began in 2014 in the now defunct British Formula 3 Championship, where he finished runner-up to Martin Cao by just two points after winning five races and taking fourteen podiums.
“I’m very pleased to be competing for Fortec Motorsports once more in 2015,” said Rao. “After a fantastic 2014 with the team in British Formula 3, I have complete confidence that the team and I can work well together in what will be my rookie year in European Formula 3.
“Building on what I learnt last year, I hope to prove myself in what is arguably the most competitive junior category in the world today.”
