DS Virgin ‘due’ good result in Paris

DS Virgin Racing are hoping for a better result this weekend at the Paris ePrix after failing to get either car to the finish last time out in Monaco.

Both cars were in the wars last weekend as Sam Bird clipped the wall while attempting to close up to Nelson Piquet Jr, and Jose Maria Lopez was hit by another car in the opening laps.

It meant both had to pit for their second cars early, leaving them to battle it out for fastest lap.

While Bird did end up securing the extra points for the quickest time, he admitted that the race should have been a lot better.

“It was good to get fastest lap in Monaco but it should have been a lot better,” Bird said. “It’s important for us not to dwell on this result and move on to the next race.”

“I had pole position in Paris last year and if everything comes together we’ll get on the podium.”

His team-mate Lopez believes the team are ‘due’ a good result, after being unlucky last time out, and said that the team had put in a lot of preparation for the Paris race.

Lopez said, “We are due a good result. We have been preparing hard for the Paris ePrix and are constantly learning as a team.

“I’m looking forward to my first Formula E race in Paris and hope we can get some good points.”
