On the back of a largely successful season thus far, Sebastian Vettel is looking forward to another strong weekend at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku.

Although the previous race at Canada was problematic for Vettel, the Scuderia Ferrari driver recovered to take fourth position after dropping to the back of the field with a broken front wing, crossing the line just 0.6s behind Red Bull’s Daniel Ricciardo.

“In Canada we didn’t have an ideal race,” said Vettel, “but I think we had a good recovery from there. Now, we’ll see what happens during this weekend.”

Vettel suggested that the unique layout of the Baku circuit took a while for Ferrari to adapt to last year, but believes that the team is able to perform on the back of their impressive season thus far. The German secured an impressive second place behind last year’s championship winner Nico Rosberg in 2016, and is hoping for another good result.

“This is a different track with a specific layout. Last year we did a good job here in Baku. We finished second, struggled a little bit on Friday, but managed to recover well on Saturday.

“Now, we are working really well in the team and I think things are coming together”.

After the winless disappointment of last year, Ferrari has already claimed three victories in 2017 courtesy of Vettel, and are just eight points behind Mercedes going into the weekend.
