McLaren test driver Gary Paffett is set to get the first taste of the 2010 challenger next week as the team confirm his test driver role.
Pedro de la Rosa was initially penciled in to take the reigns, but following his departure to Sauber, Paffett now steps up to take over the main test role.
McLaren will be unveiling their MP4-25 this week at the Vodafone HQ before heading off to Valencia next week.
Paffett’s first run of the car is due to take place on 1 February before handing over to Lewis Hamilton for the second day and then on to 2009 champion Jenson Button.
