Rubens Barrichello set the third fastest time in day four of the Jerez testing despite being hampered by gearbox issues late in the day.
The Brazilian completed 90 laps after a damp start to the day, with the Williams team focusing on set-up work for the new FW32.
A gearbox problem cut short the team's day, and Barrichello was unable to finish the day with an attempt on a faster lap time.
Barrichello was pleased with the performance of the car testing this week. “The car has performed well these past two days and we've discovered some interesting things which will help us move it forward. I was hoping to go for a performance run at the end of the day because the car felt good, but unfortunately my session was cut short. There's work to do in terms of improving performance, but I'm happy with the results that are coming out.”
Technical director Sam Michael was also positive about the progress the team had made in this session. “Overall, the test has been quite useful for putting mileage on the car, sorting out reliability issues and making progress on set-up.”
