Sauber work on set-up for day 1

1 Mins read

BMW Sauber focused on set-up work for the first day of the final pre-season test, with Pedro de la Rosa completing 73 laps of his home-circuit, the Circuit de Catalunya, in Barcelona.

The Spaniard explained how the team are now focusing on the first race of the season.  “We did an aero test for Bahrain and were trying to get the car's balance right for the Circuit de Catalunya, which is a demanding track with lots of bumps. I think we learned a lot today and are looking forward to tomorrow.”

Technical Director Willy Rampf explained how the team are not yet happy with the car's balance, but are hopeful of making improvements.  “Today we have been concentrating on different mechanical set-ups and different downforce levels in preparation for the Bahrain Grand Prix. We are not satisfied with the car's balance yet, but we have recorded a great deal of useful data which will help us further improve it.”

Pedro de la Rosa continues testing for the team tomorrow, with Kamui Kobayashi taking over for the final two days of the test.
