Geddie Looks For Perfect Start To 2010

1 Mins read

Glynn Geddie will be looking to get the perfect start to his 2010 season this weekend as the Porsche Carrera Cup GB heads to Thruxton as part of the BTCC support package.

Making the step up from the Pro-Am 1 category that he won last year, the 19-year old continues his progression with Team Parker Racing as he looks to take on the seasoned Pro front runners of  Tim Harvey and Michael Caine.

The first official test session saw Geddie finish third fastest overall, just 0.033 seconds off the pace of Caine. The young Scot showed potential on the day to take fastest time but couldn’t hook up all of the sectors in one lap.

“We are definitely going all out to take pole and the wins this weekend“, says Geddie. “The main issue will be tyres though. Michelin have a new compound for this season and there will only be a two-lap window to get a hot lap in for qualifying. It’s not going to be easy but I’m more than ready for the challenge and I have every confidence that the team will provide me with a car capable of what we are aiming to achieve. It should be good and I just can’t wait to get the season under way.”

With only two braking points at Thruxton circuit for the Porsche’s, fans should be set for an action packed weekend, with speeds expected to reach 170mph plus around the former RAF airfield.

Both races will be shown live on ITV4 (Digital and online) on Sunday with Race 1 due to start at 12.10, followed by Race 2 at 16.25.
