Williams with ‘a lot to do’ before Turkey qualifying

1 Mins read

Williams spent Friday practice evaluating new aero parts in Turkey, a process hampered by a hydraulic leak on Nico Hulkenberg’s car.

Sam Michael explained how they day had gone for the team: “We evaluated a couple of aero parts in the morning, which we continued with in the afternoon. With Rubens' car, we spent some time working on car set-up, and we still have quite a lot of work to do before tomorrow.

“Nico made good progress today, but he lost the majority of the second session due to a hydraulic leak. The problem is fully understood and resolved.”

Hulkenberg said that, despite his reliability problem, the team completed their Friday schedule. “Today was a typical Friday,” said the German. “We had a problem in the afternoon with a hydraulic leak, but we still managed quite a few laps and covered everything that we wanted to test. We will see where we are tomorrow.”

Rubens Barrichello manage 51 laps around Istanbul Park today, but isn’t convinced that he’s harnessed the full potential pace of his FW32: “I had a busy day. The car didn't really perform that well so we need to search the data tonight to see what we can find for qualifying.”
