Fauzy in Lotus for FP1 at Hockenheim

1 Mins read

Fairuz Fauzy, the Lotus test and reserve driver, will be back in the T127 for free practice this Friday morning at Hockenheim, as the team prepare for the German Grand Prix.

Lotus had previously announced that Fauzy would be in the car for FP1 at the British, Hungarian, Singapore, and Abu Dhabi races this season, but after technical problems hampered the Malaysian drivers running in Silverstone, the team today announced that he would also be in the car this weekend.

Tony Fernandes, the Lotus team principal, is obviously pleased to be giving Fauzy another chance to drive for Lotus. : “It's an exciting day for all of us in the Lotus Racing team – being able to tell Fairuz he has another Friday run a week before he thought he'd be back in the car is a great way to start the week, and we all know he'll deliver for us, both on track and in the feedback he'll provide the team,” he said.

“[Fauzy is] an inspiration to young drivers around the world, proving that being determined to make your dreams come true can make very exciting things happen!”

It has not yet been announced which of the two regular drivers Fauzy will be replacing at Hockenheim.
