Adrian Newey was admitted to hospital after an accident in the G50 race at Snetterton saw a heavy impact between Tony Hughes and his car.

Newey’s race weekend ended after Julien Draper outbraked himself sliding in to the back of Newey’s guest car, the following  Tony Hughes would be unlucky as he rounded the corner and collided heavily with the rear of the spinning Newey.

The Red Bull technical director hasn’t had a great weekend after he received three points on his racing licence yesterday for his part in a collision with Julien Draper.

Lawrence Tomlinson Ginetta Chairman revealed: “Adrian has been taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure after being clipped by Julien Draper of Barwell Motorsport which caused Tony Hughes of Speedworks to have a side on collision with Newey’s DynoJet car. Its testament to the strength of the G50 roll cage that the car withstood heavy impact and there were no serious injuries.”
