If you are looking to compete in an affordable Rallycross series, want to have a one-off go in a Rallycross car, or even if you just love motorsport, then the Suzuki Swift Sport Rallycross Championship Open Day being organised by the Peter Gwynne Motorsport. is the event for you.
On Saturday 25th September, Lydden Hill Race Circuit will host the event, aimed at getting you involved with the cars, and the series.
Throughout the day you can try the cars from the passenger seat, or even take the wheel for yourself and see what all the fuss is about.
The Suzuki Swift Sport Rallycross Championships’ inaugural season was 2009, and it has enjoyed a high level of media interest as well as attracting a number of high profile competitors, such as Leon Haslam, Andrew Jordan, Graham Middleton and Andrew Comrie-Picard.
One of the key selling points is the tightly regulated nature in which the series is managed, in an attempt to make the playing field as level as possible, and the excitement as intense as possible.
The current line-up features nine cars, but the field is looking to bolster considerably for the 2011 season, hence the holding of the open day.
In terms of prizes, the Suzuki Swift Sport Rallycross Championship offers £500 for each round winner, with the runner-up taking home £250. The overall series winner receives a Suzuki Swift Sport road car.
The open day is free to attend, for those with an interest in the cars, as well as those looking to compete.
Experts will be on hand to answer any questions, queries or concerns you have – as well as providing in-depth information on how to build, prepare and run the cars, as well as information on hiring them, the support available, and all of the other options available to you.
It is hoped that the MSA proposed Junior Swift Sport car, destined to begin competition in 2011, will be at the open day for viewing, as well as testing.
The schedule for the day is a 9.30am start, and to end no later than 6.00pm.
If you wish to take part in the drive test-sessions, for an effective two heats, you will need to possess a full UK Driving License, and will also need to pre-book by contacting Peter Gwynne Motorsport .
