Hi Everyone,
I hope your all well. This weekend I will be racing in the British GT Championship in a Ferrari 430 Scuderia for Chad Racing at Brands Hatch GP.
As you are all probably aware I have been racing in the Porsche Carrera Cup this season, but haven’t been in the last two rounds, this was due to a joint decision to focus on sportscar and endurance racing for the end of the season.
Its never easy watching the Porsche races on the television when I had good success in the championship with very little testing. Since my last race at in Porsche I have been keeping very fit working with my Trainers and being physically prepared for a phone call to drive any sportscar.
I am looking forward sharing the car with a very successful driver, (to be announced in Autosport on Thursday), his experience will be very helpful for getting used to the Ferrari quickly. We have a two hour practice in the morning where we will rotate drivers, and speak to the data engineer and mechanics between our drives.
I will as always be working closely with my Driver coach and mentor Stuart Hall, he comes to all of my test days and race weekends, and we work closely all weekend to get the last out of me and also the car. Stuart has had many successes in endurance racing so it's great to have him to point me in the right direction in my career.
Hopefully we can get a good result this weekend, it's all going to be a new experience for me but I am confident that we can mix it right at the front of the field with the top drivers, and in an hour's race things can happen.
There are many things still in the pipeline for after Brands Hatch that are exciting, but main focus is at Brands Hatch this weekend.
I will do another blog after the race weekend!
Best Wishes
– Archie
