GP3 Series organisers have revealed the entry list for Day 1 of the upcoming test at Estoril, which begins on Wednesday. The entry list features a mix of 2010 series drivers as well as many new faces who are looking to race in the series in 2011.
Champion team ART Grand Prix will run new signing James Calado alongside Rio Haryanto, who was a GP3 race winner in 2010 for Manor Racing, and ART regular Pedro Nunes. Status GP will run Michael Christensen and Dean Smith, who raced in 2010 for MW Arden and Carlin respectively, as well as 16-year-old Japanese driver Kotaro Sakurai, who has been racing in Formula BMW Pacific.
Manor's lineup consists of Conor Daly, 2010 Star Mazda champion and son of ex-Formula 1 driver Derek, Adrien Tambay, who stood in at the team for two rounds this season, winning at Spa, and Thomas Hylkema, who has been racing with the team in Formula Renault UK. RSC Mucke Motorsport will run Nigel Melker, who will continue with the team in 2011, Andrina Gugger, who will become the first woman to drive a GP3 car, and German F3 regular Willi Steindl.
Carlin will run three drivers who have been racing with the team in 2010. Rupert Svendson-Cook has won races in British F3, while Josef Newgarden and Antonio Felix da Costa have raced in GP3 for the team. Addax's lineup will consist of Miki Monras (previously of Arden), British F3 driver Adriano Buzaid and Roberto Merhi, who raced in the series this year for Atech CRS.
MW Arden will run Finnish driver Matias Laine, Simon Trummer (who raced for Jenzer Motorsport in 2010) and New Zealander Mitch Evans, who is a protégé of team partner Mark Webber. Jenzer have partnered Vittorio Ghirelli, who also raced for Atech CRS, with Swiss Formula Renault champion Zoel Amberg and existing driver Nico Muller.
Doru Sechelariu will remain with Tech 1 Racing for the test, where he will be joined by Hugo Valente and Aaro Vainio from the team's Formula Renault operation. Atech CRS will have a trio of drivers from the Atech Formula Renault UK squad; Nick Yelloly, Tamas Pal Kiss and Marlon Stockinger.
