Toro Rosso have today announced that they will be unveiling their 2011 challenger, the STR6, on the first day of winter testing.
The Ferrari-powered car will be launched on Tuesday 1st February at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia, and should be rolling down the pit lane at 9am that morning.
Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari are expected to be confirmed as race drivers at the team for 2011 – although neither driver yet appears on the official FIA entry list – with Daniel Ricciardo as test and reserve driver. The Australian rookie will be taking part in a free practice session at each grand prix weekend, and will also be in the car during winter testing.
Toro Rosso were ninth in the 2010 constructors championship, scoring 13 points over the course of the season. With Lotus Racing (as they were known last year) promising great things next season, the Red Bull sister-team will be relying on the STR6 to maintain their advantage over the so-called new teams.
