Hetherington Signs For Red Line Racing

1 Mins read

Porsche Carrera Cup Scholarship winner Benji Hetherington has signed to race for front running outfit Red Line Racing in this season’s Carrera Cup GB. The Cheshire-based driver, who is graduating from the Ginetta G50 Cup, announced the news on the Porsche stand at the Autosport International Show.

Speaking after the announcement, Hetherington said: “I felt that Red Line Racing was a good environment for me. It’s a great team of guys with very good engineers and they are the reigning champions, so they clearly know what they are doing.”

“I just can’t wait to get out in the car. We’ve got a testing programme booked ahead of the opening race weekend at Brands Hatch. I want to be on the podium as soon as possible.”

Red Line Racing team boss Simon Leonard is happy with the signing: “We ran Benji in a test late last year and I was very impressed with him. He’ll be an asset to the team and he’s going to be quick. I think he’ll be right up there.”
