Buemi Ends “Productive” Valencia Test For Toro Rosso

1 Mins read

Sebastien Buemi was back in the Toro Rosso STR6 for the final day of testing in Valencia today, completing 73 laps without any major reliability problems.

The Swiss driver was only tenth fastest but, as the team point out, no conclusions about performance and comparisons with others can be drawn from the three days in Valencia – some teams are still running their 2010 cars, and new tyre supplier Pirelli provided three different types of tyres for this test sesssion.

“Another interesting day, my first full one in the new car,” said Buemi. “I was able to have a good look at all three compounds of tyre from Pirelli, from the Medium through to the Super-soft. I used KERS all day and we had no issues with the system. The first three days of running with the new car have been productive, and now we must prepare to make progress in Jerez next week.”

The team will now analyse the data from this session and prepare a programme for the next test outing which begins in Jerez on Thursday 10th February.
