Lewis Hamilton said it was ‘a big positive’ to complete 93 laps for McLaren on Day Three of the pre-season test in Barcelona.
The Brit began the day running the Pirelli full wet and intermediate tyres thanks to more overnight rain in Spain and, after a few technical issues around lunchtime, conducted some longer tyre evaluation on a dry track this afternoon. He finished the day as the third fastest driver.
“This was a positive day: we've been focusing on our programme, trying to complete as many laps as possible, improve reliability and understand the Pirelli tyres,” said the 2008 world champion. “We're learning more and more about them every day.
“We've had a few technical issues with this car, but the guys have been working incredibly to rectify them. To get more than 90 laps under my belt today was a big positive, and I'm looking forward to a trouble free day tomorrow.”
Hamilton continues his testing duties for the team tomorrow – the final day of the Barcelona test.
