Heidfeld confirmed as Kubica’s replacement

1 Mins read

Nick Heidfeld has been confirmed by Lotus Renault as the replacement for Robert Kubica as the Polish driver recovers from the injuries sustained earlier this month in a rallying accident.

Heidfeld, 33, will begin work at the next pre-season test in Barcelona this Friday, and race alongside Vitaly Petrov until Kubica is fit enough to return to the team.

The German impressed his new team at the Jerez test when he topped the timesheets last Saturday.
