John Taylor has been confirmed with Team Parker Racing for this season's Porsche Carrera Cup GB, where he will contest the championship's Pro-Am2 class.

Taylor – a retired dentist – brings a wealth of racing experience to his most high profile campaign to date. Having starting competing in rally in 1988 Taylor has raced Caterhams, Radicals, and a Chevron B8 before, in recent seasons, driving a 996 model Porsche 911 GT3 Cup in GT Cup.

“I had so much fun with the older car, I thought why not try the new one,” said Taylor. “It will be a steep learning curve, but I’m really looking forward to it.”

Taylor's connection to Stuart Parker's team hark back to connections made in Caterham racing, and now joins Sam Tordoff as a confirmed driver with the team for 2011.

“This will be the first time we have mounted a serious campaign in pro-am2 and I'm looking forward to working with John,” said Parker. “He's in this for the enjoyment of his sport, but I think he'll be a serious contender in pro-am2.”
