Team SAS International is teaming up with front running outfit Red Line Racing for an assault on the 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup GB. 2007 series champion James Sutton and Michael Meadows have been confirmed as the team's drivers.
The team, working under the Team SAS with Red Line Racing banner, are aiming to win both the drivers' and teams' titles. Red Line has a great history in the series, winning the team title in 2004, 2007 and 2009, as well as taking the drivers title four times, with Richard Westbrook (2004), James Sutton (2007) and Tim Harvey (2008 and 2010).
Sutton leads the team as he looks to secure his second championship, after finishing runner up in 2009. Meadows goes into his second season in the Porsche series, after winning the Carrera Cup Scholarship in 2010.
Team boss Simon Leonard commented: “I am delighted that SAS will be supporting Red Line Racing in our challenge for the titles this season. We've got a brilliant driver line-up with James and Michael, and we're all going out there to win. We've got two drivers capable of winning races and challenging for the title. The support of SAS will allow us to give them the very best chance of success. SAS recognises the strength of both the Carrera Cup and the Porsche brand and has made a major commitment to the championship.”
