Wilson Leads British Supersport Field In Qualifying

1 Mins read

Gearlink Kawasaki rider Ben Wilson will start from pole position for Sunday afternoon’s opening round of the Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship after carrying across his pace from free practice on Friday.

A time of 46.795s was enough to take the top spot around the Brands Hatch Indy circuit ahead of former champion Steve Plater who was 0.245s behind on his Padgetts Honda.

Shaun Winfield‘s Oxford TAG Triumph brought the session to an early close after a blown engine left oil on the start-finish straight. Team-mate Paul Young had better luck as posted a time fast enough to make the front row alongside Lee Johnston.

Relentless Suzuki rider Alastair Seeley heads up the second row with Christian Iddon, Dan Cooper and Luke Mossey.

The top 10 was completed by Jack Kennedy and Dean Hipwell.
