Pirelli: New Hard Tyre to Add ‘Another Exciting Dimension’ in Spain

1 Mins read

Pirelli anticipate that the new evolution of their hard tyre will ‘add another exciting dimension’ to the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend.

The new PZero Silver tyre has been developed to introduce a greater difference between the degradation of the  the hard and soft compounds which will apparently give the teams more to think about when it comes to deciding on race strategy.

“Our new PZero Silver tyre is an evolution of the existing tyre that should provide an extra five laps or so of running compared to the previous version, widening the gap between the new hard tyre and the soft,” explains Motorsport Director Paul Hembery.

“This will become the definitive hard tyre for the year, providing we see the results that we are expecting from the race. These are tyres that have been extensively tested, so I feel confident that they will add another exciting dimension to the race this weekend – particularly in terms of potential strategies.”
