Rodolfo Gonzalez has joined the Auto GP grid for this weekend’s second round of the season at the Hungaroring.
The Venezuelan will be driving for the Campos Racing team, in place of Adrian Campos Jr. The young Spaniard and son of team boss Adrian injured his back in a practice crash at the opening round of the season at Monza. According to the team his injuries will keep him out of action for three months.
Gonzalez, who is racing in GP2 this year for Trident Racing, has previous experience of the championship and the car from 2009 when it was known as Euroseries 3000. He competed in the full season that year, winning one race at Zolder and finishing fifth in the final standings for Fisichella Motor Sport.
Gonzalez will race alongside Marco Barba and Bruno Mendez at Campos this weekend.
