Felix Da Costa Ahead In GP3 Second Practice At Nurburgring

1 Mins read

Antonio Felix da Costa proved that he has the pace to bounce back from a disappointing first half of the GP3 season by recording the fastest time in second practice at the Nurburgring.

Rio Haryanto sat on top of the timesheets early on after the session got underway, but British drivers James Calado and Lewis Williamson soon both took turns at the top. Valtteri Bottas then went quickest, before championship leader Alexander Sims moved into P1.

He was then displaced by his Status Grand Prix teammate Felix da Costa, who took control of the session at the midway point and remained there until the finish. Tom Dillmann moved into second place, 0.037s behind the Portuguese ace and knocking Sims down to third. The times at the top remained unchanged in the closing stages.

ART teammates Bottas and Calado ended up fourth and fifth, separated by just two hundredths of a second. Haryanto slipped to sixth ahead of the MW Arden duo of Williamson and Mitch Evans. Aaro Vainio was ninth for Tech 1, with Ivan Lukashevich ensuring all three Status cars were in the top ten.
