Jolyon Palmer Eyeing First GP2 Points At Silverstone

1 Mins read

Jolyon Palmer will race in front of a home crowd this weekend when the fifth event of the GP2 Series season takes place at Silverstone. The 20-year-old is chasing his first points in the Formula 1 feeder series, and is confident of a strong result at home.

His confidence is partly down to his knowledge of the Northamptonshire circuit, but also due to a strong pre-season test there, where he finished one of the sessions in second place.

The Arden International driver heads to Silverstone having already scored two top ten finishes in his rookie season, including a ninth place finish last time out at Valencia, a track he had never been to before.

“I'm looking forward to Silverstone as it's my home race and a track I know very well,” he said. “The weather, as always, will probably be unpredictable but during testing in both wet and dry conditions I was in the top ten so I'm hopeful for a good weekend and I can't wait to get started.”
