Quaife-Hobbs Tops Wet GP3 First Practice At Silverstone

1 Mins read

Adrian Quaife-Hobbs recorded the fastest time in a rain-affected first free practice session at his home circuit of Silverstone.

Fellow Brit Lewis Williamson set the early pace on wet tyres at the start of the session, before the field returned to the pits for slicks.

Rio Haryanto went quickest, before being knocked off top spot by Antonio Felix Da Costa. James Calado then went quickest before spinning and crashing on his next lap, ending his session early.

Haryanto returned to the top spot in the closing stages before Williamson went quickest again. Quaife-Hobbs then stole top spot just before the end of the session, 0.378s quicker than Williamson.

Williamson and Haryanto remained in second and third, with Gabby Chaves fourth and championship leader Mitch Evans in fifth. Valtteri Bottas was sixth ahead of the British duo of Alexander Sims and Dean Smith. Tom Dillmann and Michael Christensen rounded out the top ten.
