Super Nova Looking Forward To Home Race At Silverstone

1 Mins read

Super Nova drivers Luca Filippi and Fairuz Fauzy are both looking forward to racing at the team's home circuit of Silverstone this weekend, and hoping for good results to go with it.

“Silverstone is our home race weekend and because I really feel like a part of the Super Nova family I’m very motivated to race there and impress our British supporters,” said Filippi.

“I hope that they will all enjoy the GP that is one of the most popular of the season and I promise that they will have an English team fight for podium position.”

Filippi had been fighting for third place during the feature race at the previous round in Valencia, until contact with another driver send him into retirement and ended his chances of a strong weekend. He is hoping to show great pace again at Silverstone and this time convert it into a top result.

“In Valencia we were fast and only a mistake I made in race one ruined a weekend that was looking great,” he said, “but at least we are showing good performances and we all know how big the potential we have is.”

With Fauzy living close to the Northamptonshire circuit he regards it as a home track.

“It’s great to be back here in Silverstone,” he said. “I got some practice here last year with Formula One, which was good.

“This year will be more challenging, especially with the new complex – it has a good feel to it and is more exciting. This will be my first time with the new configuration but my aim is still to pick up as many points as we can over the weekend.”

Team principal David Sears added: “The whole team are looking forward to our home race this weekend. We feel that both drivers stand a good chance of success and I believe that we deserve some good luck for a change. However, the weather will be the biggest variable factor due to thunderstorms forecasted for the latter part of this week.”
