Strong Test Pleases Al Harthy

1 Mins read

Ahmad Al Harthy made a flying visit to the UK this week for a vital test around the new Snetterton 300 circuit, his first chance to try out the new '300' layout as he prepares for Rounds Ten and Eleven of Porsche Carrera Cup GB Championship at the Norfolk venue this weekend.

The 29 year old used the test to reaqquaint himself with his car, three weeks since he last raced in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race at Silverstone. Heading to Snetterton on Thursday 28th July, Ahmad and his Oman Air Racing Team enjoyed a full days running, focusing on qualifying and race set ups.

Happy with the day's work, the Oman Air, Nawras, National Bank of Oman, Brand Oman, Oman Ministry of Sports Affairs and Oman Ministry of Tourism-backed racer now heads into the second half of the season feeling confident, hoping to add to the one victory and five other podiums that currently put him third in the Pro-Am 1 class standings.

Ahmad said: “I'm really, very pleased with the work we completed at Snetterton. The new track is a good challenge, I like the infield section as it adds something different and I think it should deliver some really close Porsche racing. We made some good progress with the set-up so hopefully we can begin the second half of the season strongly when we're back here next weekend.”
