Tincknell Bounces Back For Top Ten Finish

1 Mins read

Harry Tincknell bounced back from early disappointment to claim a top ten finish during the latest three rounds of the 2011 Cooper Tires British F3 International Series at Rockingham Motor Speedway.

Tincknell headed to Northamptonshire with fond memories of the circuit, having taken victory there in Formula Renault UK in 2010. The 19 year old using his track knowledge to secure a pair of eighth places in qualifying, a best lap of 1min 12.473s.

There was disappointment for the Exeter-based driver in race one though when he forced to retire just four laps in with an engine problem. This meant he started race two from the penultimate row of the grid, but in tricky wet conditions, the MSA Team UK member worked his way through to thirteenth place. He back this up with a strong performance in race three, remaining calm in the tough conditions to bring his Fortec Motorsport car home in eighth place.

Tincknell said: “The weekend had its challenges but I'm not going to let it dampen my mood. The car had good pace and there's six races still to go, so I want to finish the championship on a high!”
