British Touring Car Independents champion James Nash will make a return to Formula Ford racing when he competes in the Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone this weekend.
Nash will race in the Formula Ford 2000 category, driving a Van Diemen RF82 run by Simon Green Motorsport. The car is owned by Lanan Racing and was driven this year in the BARC Classic Formula Ford 2000 Series by Scott Temple.
Nash has form in the Walter Hayes Trophy, having finished second in 2006. He raced in Formula Ford in 2006 and 2007, finishing runner-up in the championship in 2007.
“I can't wait to get back into a Formula Ford,” said Nash. “I know it's only been three weeks since the end of the BTCC season, but I've missed being in a car. Plus I've got unfinished business in the Walter Hayes as I came 2nd in 2006.”
Green said: “We're delighted to have James on board this weekend, it will be nice to see what our car can really do at the hands of a British Touring Car Independents Champion.”
