Former Force India driver Adrian Sutil has today been convicted of causing grievous bodily harm after an incident in a Shanghai night club last April.

A court in Munich that handed out the sentence also ordered the 29-year-old German to pay a 200,000 euro fine.

The victim was Renault F1 executive Eric Lux, who suffered cuts during the fracas. He and Sutil were among guests at a party to celebrate Lewis Hamilton‘s Chinese Grand Prix victory that weekend.

Sutil is currently without a Formula 1 drive this season after being replaced at Force India over the winter by Nico Hulkenberg.
