George Richardson On The Pro-Am1 Podium During 2011
George Richardson has switched from Motorbase Performance to Parr Motorsport for a title challenge in the Pro-Am1 class of the 2012 Porsche Carrera Cup GB.
Manchester-based Richardson heads into his third full season in the Carrera Cup, having finished third in Pro-Am2 in 2010 and fifth in Pro-Am1 last year. A strong end to 2011 saw him pick up five podiums in the final eight races, putting him in confident mood ahead of the upcoming campaign. Richardson joins 20 year old Ben Barker and 24 year old Chris Dymond in Parr's line up for 2012, meaning their driving squad has an average age of less than 21 and a half.
Richardson said: “I'm excited about the prospect of working with Parr Motorsport. I've had a good relationship with Paul Robe since I entered the championship and with Parr's standard of preparation and its history in the Carrera Cup the team has always been at the top. I hope to learn as much as I can to help achieve my goal of becoming a professional sports car driver.”
Team boss Paul Robe added: “I really am very pleased to have George joining our team for 2012. We've got a very young team of drivers and it is great to work with young guys who have a lot of drive and determination. The target for George is to win races in Pro-Am1.”
