After three years racing Porsches in the UK, Australian racer Richard Denny has announced he will compete in the Maserati Trofeo World Series in 2012.
The London-based racer has competed with Parr Motorsport in the GT Cup and Porsche Carrera Cup GB over the last few seasons, with 2011 seeing him take nine podiums on his way to third in the Pro-Am2 class of the Carrera Cup, the highlight of his year being winning his class at the Porsche Carrera World Cup event on the Nurburgring Nordshleife.
Denny is embarking on a new adventure this season though, with the Maserati Trofeo World Series seeing him compete across the world, in Europe, America and China, in a GranTurismo MC Trofeo. As well as competing in the one-make championship, Denny is planning to return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB for selected races, as well as compete in other international races.
Speaking about his new challenge, Denny said: “After three years racing in the UK I wanted a new challenge and to race on new tracks. We'll be racing at some classic circuits like Imola, Estoril, Paul Ricard and Jarama as well as Infineon Raceway in the US and Shanghai in China. So I'm really looking forward to getting started.”
