Dan Wells Blog: Heading Back To Inner Mongolia

2 Mins read
In a long break in his racing schedule Dan has continued his search for funding

Hi all and welcome back to another edition of my blog. I’m writing this from my apartment in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong after a good meeting and gym session this morning. With six weeks in between Rounds 2 and 3 of the Formula Pilota China Championship, this gives me the time to work even harder at securing the financial backing necessary to go racing. It has been pretty much non-stop, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

It has been quite a productive time, and those of you who follow me on twitter will know I have been going to ‘BNI’ meetings on Thursday mornings. The meetings take place at 6.30am and go through until about 9am – it is quite hard waking up this early each week but the early signs have been positive! I have to thank my sponsors Sideways Driving Club for inviting me to join and sponsoring my membership. I am trying to educate the small businesses how using motorsport as a medium for their business can be beneficial. The response has been good so far and I’m looking forward to working with everyone at the BNI Attraction Chapter in the future.

It is quite apt the the BNI chapter that I joined just so happened to be named ‘Attraction’. The Law of Attraction is something that I have been studying for nearly a year now, with guidance from John Pratt at iZone Driver Performance. The law basically states that ‘like attracts like’, and that if you adopt a positive outlook and visualise your goals, then things will happen. I am a great believer in this, and it is great to be able to share my visions with everyone at the networking group.

I have some great news too. Nearly Friday are a new HK based start up company who specialise in prestige products and events, while not forgetting charitable efforts (they are currently building a school in Cambodia). They exist to provide Hong Kong-ers with great ways to celebrate the weekend and have recently announced that they are going to be continuing our relationship for the Ordos round on Aug 17/18. Without them I would not be able to go racing so I’m very thankful.

Furthermore, Motorsport XS (www.motorsportxs.com) have renewed their partnership with us too – you can follow them on twitter @motorsportxs. They provide great discounts and competitions for motor racing fans ranging from tickets to magazines – go and check them out! I also have to thank Jolien Oeben for the great website she has produced: www.danwellsracing.co.uk – it is a huge weight off my mind to know that she is keeping everything up to date and looking professional.

I must be off now – a lot of emails to get through tonight, and I haven’t even had the time to think about driving at Ordos! Keep following me on twitter @danwellsracing, and if you haven’t already please help support me at www.gofundme.com/danwellsracing.

Thanks for the reading. Oh, and why not take a look at this while you’re here? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_jRZsqfxGhg
