Redline Racing Claim Carrera Cup GB Team Title

1 Mins read

Redline Racing secured the coveted Porsche Carrera Cup GB Teams’ Championship title during the final rounds of the season at Brands Hatch.

It’s the fifth team title in ten years for the Cleveland-based team, who also secured the drivers’ championship with Michael Meadows and the Pro-Am1 title with Ahmad Al Harthy. The team scored points with Meadows and the car raced by Glynn Geddie and then James Sutton this season, seeing off old adversaries Team Parker Racing by just eight points, Parr Motorsport coming third.

Redline, who had previously won the crown in 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2011, remain the most successful team in the Carrera Cup GB with 72 wins.

“We made hard work of it at the final race weekend, but we got there,” said team boss Simon Leonard. “It has been tough as there are some very good teams in the Carrera Cup. Team Parker Racing has been here a long time and gave us a run for our money. We led it from the start, so we wanted to keep it going until the last weekend.

“The guys are fantastic: I’ve got some great guys with me and they make it happen. The Carrera Cup is a brilliant championship and we want to be part of it for another 10 years. We’ll be back next year to defend the title.”
