Porsche Carrera Cup Great Britain star Daniel Lloyd has become the latest driver to be announced as a member of the KX Akademy.
Lloyd, who will compete in his second season in the PCCGB this season, will receive a cash injection towards his campaign from the energy drink brand KX, as well as mentoring and support from two-time British Touring Car Champion Jason Plato.
The 20 year old is already receiving support from Porsche, having been awarded a second season of part-funding through their Carrera Cup GB Scholarship programme which he won ahead of the 2012 season.
“This is another piece of the jigsaw and it is great to have been selected,” Lloyd told Motorsport News. “I am looking forward to working with Jason because there are very few drivers who have been able to make a career out of motorsport, but he is one of them.
“I am in the best place to lead, and thing I need to do is go out there now and win the title. I am in a position to hit the ground running this year.”
Lloyd, who took one win on his way to sixth in the championship last season, joins Ginetta GT Supercup racers Tom Ingram and Rob Boston, as well as Renault Clio Cup drivers Luke Herbert, Stefan Hodgetts and Ant Whorton-Eales, in being backed by the scheme.
