KC Motorgroup Ltd. have taken delivery of their Morgan LMP2 chassis following the announcement that they would become the first Chinese team to compete in the 24 hours of Le Mans this year.
The work now commences to fit the Nissan powerplant and prepare the car for its first test which will see Alexandre Imperatori head to Europe in late march to test the LMP2 car ahead of Le Mans.
KCMG Managing Director Paul Ip explained how the LMP2 challenge in the 24 Hours of Le Mans fits in to the bigger picture of development for the team “I started KC Motorgroup Ltd. with one ambitious goal in mind, be the first Formula 1 team in China.
“Thanks to the effort of a fully committed team of managing and supportive staff from around the world, each championship and project has made KCMG a step closer to this goal.
“This year, we are going to compete in the Le Mans 24 Hours- which is an amazing opportunity for us. In the foreseeable future, KCMG will expand further to the European countries and through-out the world.”
Alongside the main Le Mans event the team will also be taking part in the Asian Le Mans Series for 2013.
