The FIA GT and Blancpain Endurance Series will receive extensive coverage from German broadcaster RTL and their sister channel, RTL Nitro, SRO Motorsports Group have confirmed.

RTL will show a highlights package of Nogaro, Zolder, Zandvoort, Solvakia, Navarra FIA GT races as well as the prestigious 24 Hours of Spa and Nurburgring 1000kms Blancpain Endurance Series events. The highlights will be aired immediately before live Formula One qualifying programmes on the main RTL channel.

Running alongside the main channel highlights, the Nogaro, Zandvoort, Slovakia and a possible fourth race will be shown live on RTL Nitro, with the rest of the FIA GT races and all of the Blancpain Endurance Series will have a one hour same-day prime-time programme.

For the UK, European specialist motorsport channel, Motors TV, will carry every FIA GT Series live on the UK feed, while the Blancpain Endurance Series will be shown on the pan-European feed – which includes the UK.

As well as strong coverage in Europe, GT racing is set for a major boost in South America thanks to a deal with the SporTV Globo channel which will see every FIA GT race shown live in support of the entries submitted by BMW Team Brazil.

2013 will also once again bring dedicated online coverage via the official websites and on YouTube, which will provide live streaming of each event.

“This is a significant agreement we are announcing today.” said SRO Motorsports Group CEO Stephane Ratel “The scope of the coverage that will be given by RTL will reach a huge audience and a massive demographic for our teams and commercial partners. We are looking forward to expressing and sharing both the FIA GT Series and Blancpain Endurance Series and to showing the excitement and diversity that these multi-class format races can bring to TV viewers through our comprehensive TV package in 2013.”

Head of Sport for RTL, Manfred Loppe added “The FIA GT Series and Blancpain Endurance Series are the ideal complement for RTL and its motorsports-portfolio. There are powerful types and strong brands opposing in a pulsating competition. These are just three cogent arguments, to join this race-series. With a highlight-presentation in the viewer-strong field of Formula 1 coverage on RTL and with extensive and contemporary broadcasts in the male-orientated program range of RTL NITRO we can position the GT-series in two attractive program-fields.”
