This live blog will be updated during the final two hours of the FIA World Endurance Championship event, the Six Hours of Silverstone.

18:04#25 Delta-ADR wins in LMP2, #97 Aston Martin GTE Pro and #96 Aston Martin with GTE AM. Thank you for tuning in, as this now ends our broadcast.

18:01The #2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro of Allan McNish, Tom Kristensen and Loic Duval wins the 6 Hours of Silverstone, taking full points for the first round of the 2013 FIA WEC

17:58#2 Audi is pulling away – nearly 2 seconds ahead of #1 Audi.

17:58#81 8 Star Ferrari has made it back to the pits

17:57#81 8 Star Ferrari suffers contact to the left rear – car goes off track with a delaminated left rear tyre.

17:56With 4 minutes 30 seconds to go – #2 Audi takes the lead into Luffield – a spirited drive by McNish on home soil.

17:54McNish is now behind Treluyer, as both clear the traffic to fight for the win, less than 8 tenths of a second behind.

17:53#41 Greaves goes past the #35 Oak Racing for third place

17:52#2 Audi – McNish sets a fastest lap of the race – a 1:42.767. The gap is closing fast – 2 seconds presently

17:51With just 10 minutes to go, #2 Audi with McNish is clearly the man to watch, as the gap to Treluyer is just 3.3 seconds

17:50#47 KCMG is not that far behind the LMP2 battle for third

17:46The gap between both Audis is down to 8.623 seconds. McNish is catching Treluyer, who is encountering traffic.

17:43McNish in the #2 Audi is catching fast – gap down to just over 10 seconds. He is having to deal with traffic.

17:05Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich has confirmed that Audi #1 is unable to use the e-tron’s hybrid system due to a broken driveshaft

17:00McNish pits as the final hour of the race begins. He stays in the car while the car is fuelled. No tyres though

16:58And again McNish sets the fastest lap of the race at 1:43.159, but Treluyer responds with a 1:42.926. Lead is 6.9 seconds

16:56McNish – to establish that lead – set the fastest lap of the race – 1:43.381

16:55McNish – who has sprinted into an 8 second lead – has just put Alex Wurz down a second lap

16:51Alex Brundle, who picked up the LMP2 lead when Walker pitted, comes in. Olivier Pla replaces the Briton at the wheel

16:47James Walker has brought the LMP2 leading#25 Delta-ADR car to the pits, Antonio Pizzonia climbs in

16:44Sebastien Buemi – “We were not strong enough at the start of the race, but now it’s going a little more in our direction”

16:44McNish has the lead out to nearly four seconds already and he and Treluyer chase each other through traffic

16:40The #8 falls back off the lead lap with that stop.

16:39Sebastien Buemi pits the #8 from third place. Anthony Davidson back into the TS030

16:38McNish leads, going up the inside at Brooklands

16:37McNish looks for the lead at Stowe, and Club but remains in second. For Now.

16:36The #35 OAK Racing car is in the pits with the engine cover off. In third they have two lap buffer to the #49 Pecom racing entry

16:36Gap between the Audis is now 0.555 seconds

16:34Wurz, Lapierre and the #7 are too far back for that to have an affect, but the #8 remains on the lead lap behind the Audis

16:34So, the question is: Can the Toyota’s complete the race on one fewer stop than the Audis?

16:33McNish has the lead down to 1.4 seconds. 90 minutes to go.

16:33Alex Wurz is into the pits in the #7 Toyota

16:29Allan McNish sets the fastest lap of the race – 1:43.486. He’s 3.5 seconds behind Treluyer.

16:29No further action on the incident that caused the demise of Strakka Racing. Both cars involved have already been taken out of any contention.

16:26Fred Makowiecki took the #99 Aston back out in the third place in LMGTE Pro after taking over from Pedro Lamy at the last stop. Toni Vilander is 2nd for AF Corse

16:23The #50 Larbre Competition Corvette has been given a 45 second stop-go as punishment for the overtaking under the full course yellows

16:22Andre Lotterer reports that he thinks the #1 car has lost the hybrid drive

16:22And a lap later Lotterer is in in the #1 Audi, Benoit Treluyer back aboard after starting the race in the car

16:19Tom Kristensen dives to the pits in the #2 Audi from second place. Allan McNish getting in.

16:17Pedro Lamy pits from second in LMGTE pro in the #99 Aston – AMR will lose their 1-2 in that class again

16:15Still both Audis at the head of the race, Lotterer leads Kristensen by five seconds with 1:44 left to go

16:08Gearbox problems for the #45 OAK racing car, still in the pits in a bid to get the car back out on track
