Adrian Newey Statue Unvelied At Mallory Park

1 Mins read

Renowned Formula 1 engineer and designer Adrian Newey has been immortalised at Mallory Park after a statue was unveiled in his honour earlier this week.

Red Bull Racing F1 team manager Christian Horner was given the task to reveal the statue to an exclusive list of guests including Martin Brundle, Tony Jardine, John Cooper, BARC Chairman Simon Clark and circuit owner Chris Meek.

The statue shows Newey in his familiar pose, looking up at timing screens with his headphones on as is often seen on TV from the pit lane. Newey has the most Constructor Championships in history for a designer and is the only designer to have won the championship with three different Formula 1 teams.

Newey’s statue joins Mallory Park’s collection of motorsport character statues, which include Colin Chapman, John Surtees, Mike Hailwood and Jim Clark, positioned outside the circuit for all to see throughout the year free of charge.
