ELMS Heads To Red Bull Ring

1 Mins read

The European Le Mans Series is preparing for a return, following a two month break which saw sixteen ELMS cars compete in the 90th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The Red Bull Ring in Austria will host the three hour race on the 20th July, the third race of the 2013 season, and is expecting a grid of 29 cars to take the grid at the circuit which used to be known as the Osterreichring, Spielberg Circuit and the A1 Ring and hosted the Austrian Grand Prix from 1970-1987 and 1997-2003.

The circuit was bought by Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz, totally rebuilt and rebranded the Red Bull ahead of its reopening in May 2011 and has since hosted a number of international races.

While a provisional entry list of 29 cars has been announced, many teams are yet to announce their driver line-ups, with more information expected in the near future.
