Winner in the most recent Auto GP round Narain Karthikeyan has praised the series stating his desire to remain in high powered single seaters as the main reason for his participation.
The former Jordan and HRT F1 driver races for British team Super Nova and ha praised the efficiency and professionalism of Auto GPs organisers.
Karthikeyan said: “The choice of venues on the calendar is great as well and so far I have enjoyed all that the series has had to offer and I’m eagerly looking forward to the rest of the season.”
He said his first win in the championship was a hard fought one especially with the skill level of the “young guys” currently competing. Hopefully, the Indian, remarks Mugello in the second weekend of July will see a continuation of the good form he is currently enjoying and will hopefully be able to push on from fourth in the drivers championship and keep Super Nova in the top spot in the teams championship.
Already having knowledge of the car from his days racing in A1GP Karthikeyan thinks the package is the best all rounder in terms of downforce, power but most importantly – reliability.
However, he was full of praise for his team as well as the car: “We have a very good understanding already and we were working seamlessly together right from the get-go as we topped our ever session at Silverstone and went on to win. Obviously I have known John and the guys for a while now, but it is not just about the car or the setup – Super Nova is really a top-notch race team all-around ever since I’ve known them.”
The next time Karthikeyan will be in action is on July 13/14 at Mugello.
