More heavy rain limited the teams of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) to just 20 minutes of running in the second free practice session for the Six Hours of the Circuit of the Americas.

Toyota Racing driver Anthony Davidson made the most of the relatively dry running in the TS030 Hybrid to set a lap of 2:00.756. He was more than three faster than Allan McNish, the fastest man in the #2 Audi R18 e-tron quattro that leads the championship points. Marcel Fassler was the only driver from the #1 team to drive in the session, completing just half a dozen laps to take third fastest.

John Martin was fastest in LMP2 in the G-Drive Racing Oreca-Nissan, but his 2:10.989 was only a quarter of a second faster than Martin Plowman in the best of the three OAK Racing Morgans.

Aston Martin Racing teams were fastest in both the LMGTE Pro and Am classes. Fred Mackowiecki topped the Pro wing in the #99 he will share with Bruno Senna. Marc Lieb was second fastest, backing up the first session leading pace of co-driver Richard Lietz in the #92 Porsche. Kamui Kobayashi was third fastest in class for AF Corse, though his time overall was slower than Jamie CampbellWalter’s 2:18.138 lap that led LMGTE Am by 1.7 seconds over Kristian Poulsen – the only man to get out in the all-Danish Aston Martin in the session.
