Chilton Confirmed At Marussia For 2014

1 Mins read

Max Chilton will continue to drive for Marussia F1 Team for the 2014 Formula One World Championship, it was announced at Autosport International.

Taking the stage at the largest motorsport show in Europe, Marussia President and Sporting Director Graeme Lowdon confirmed that the 22-year-old will continue his partnership with the team.

“I received fantastic support from British motorsport fans throughout my first season in Formula One, and it was exciting to share the news that I’ll be continuing with the Marussia F1 Team in 2014 with them first hand at Autosport International today,” said Chilton. “You learn such a lot in your debut season, but the second year is when you can really pull all of those new experiences together and show your true potential. That has always been the case for me in the junior categories and I’ll be aiming for a similar step in my second year of F1 competition.”

Chilton made his Formula One debut in 2013 with Marussia having taken multiple victories in feeder series such as GP2 and British Formula 3. Completing 19 consecutive races, Chilton was the only rookie in 2013 to finish every race in his maiden season, taking a best finish of 14th in Monaco.

Joining Chilton on the stage throughout was a host of world motorsport names including Chilton’s older brother, World Touring Car racer, Tom. Also appearing on the Autosport name were legendary names such as John Surtees, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish, as well as a number of stars from the British Touring Car Championship.

Tickets are available for the final day (Sunday 12 January) of Autosport International either on the door at £34 for adults or £23 for children, or from www.autosportinternational.com where prices are £31 for adults and £20 for children. Tickets bought online must be collected at the NEC.
