Former Caterham Academy racer Dan Livingstone will compete in the K-Tec Clio Racing 182 Series this season as he eyes a move into the Michelin Clio Cup Series in 2015.
Livingstone made his car-racing debut in the Caterham Academy championship last season after winning a fully-paid drive from the Caterham Academy Drive competition, run by Autosport, Pistonheads and Caterham.
In his first season of car racing, the Kent-based racer finished an impressive fourth overall, with a third place in his first ever car-race at Donington Park being one of three podium finishes during the campaign.
Livingstone is hoping to use the 182 series as a stepping stone into the Clio Cup Series, and is looking forward to making the move to front-wheel drive racing.
“The K-Tec Racing Clio 182 Series looks an attractive package to ensure a level playing field for myself,” said Livingstone. “I aim to use this year to learn the dynamics of racing a front wheel drive car. The series is looking good in terms of grid sizes so close racing is going to be on the menu.
“I’m excited to collect my 2014 race car and get to grips with it at my local race track Brands Hatch. I hope to build on my successful first year of racing and be challenging at the front this year. I’m really excited for this year and can’t wait for the lights to go out for the opening race at Silverstone.”
The K-TEC Racing Clio 182 Series, run by the 750 Motor Club, is a one-make series based on lightly modified MkII Renault Clio Sport 182 cars. After sharing grids with the 750MC Stock Hatch championship last year, it will run as a standalone series this season.
