1 Mins read

Following on from the recent announcement that Formula E now has agreed with ITV4 to provide comprehensive coverage of the inaugural series that kickstarts in Beijing this coming September, the on-board footage from each of the Spark-Renault SRT_01Es will be provided via state-of-the-art HD cameras.

The micro-sized cameras, where up to a maximum of four per vehicle, will be provided through Vislink, who specialise in broadcast technologies on a global platform. The live video transmission systems and cameras being used are part of the Gigawave technology that the provider has been renowned for, which will also provide a benefit for the viewers that are being drawn to this new series.

Vislink Internatiaonal Ltd’s CEO, Stephen Rudd said that the company was looking to be a part of this new step forward when it comes to future racing technologies, and looks forward to keeping up its tradition of providing only the best when it comes to assisting high-level motorsports: “Vislink has a strong track record in live sports, delivering on-board systems for MotoGP and the FIA World Rally Championship. We are delighted that Vislink has also been selected to provide HD broadcast equipment for Formula E.”

The multinational company, which has offices in the UK, USA, UAE and Singapore, will also provide their T-Piece camera system, which features booth front and rear facing cameras, with Vislink also providing live pitlane footage, thanks to the Clip-On wireless camera transmitters, which will also benefit the positioning in the pits to capture the action as it happens.
