1 Mins read

Alex Hvaal finished the 2013 European Rallycross season on a high, winning the last 2 rounds before signing up with Petter Solberg‘s PSRX team for the 2014 World Rallycross Championship.

Speaking in December Hvaal said: “If you want to become the best driver, you have to aim high and learn from the best driver there is,”

Entering the new season he is doing just that, at 21 the Norwegian has a realistic shot at the title as the 2014 season gets underway this weekend in Portugal.

Talking ahead of the weekend he said: “This is an amazing opportunity that I’ve been given.

“There’s a lot I can learn from Petter but also a big responsibility: of course there are no team orders, and Petter was very clear on that, but we also have to work as a team to fight for the teams’ championship – which is another big objective that we have for this season.”

The PSRX team have had a busy offseason, following the preperation of the cars in Sweden the team headed to Franciacorta in Italy for the global media launch. With the season officially launched the team headed North for a two-day test at Loheac before heading down to Portugal for the first round.
